I have read a little and found out that they are restriction codes, such as corrective lenses; however, I don't know of any such restrictions that I personally have. Does anyone know what it is and how to find out specifically what the number refers to?

There are various restrictions which can be placed on a license. Anything must have prescription glasses when driving, or allowed only to drive to and from work, in the event of DUI or other criminal acts, which affect your license status. This is usually followed either by the restrictions codes assigned by the DMV or plain wording on what the restrictions are. If you have any restriction codes listed, you probably should already know what they mean. If not, log onto the DMV website, and there should be some easy explanation. Not worth making a trip to the DMV for though, I promise. Try the internet.

I have never actually seen a CA license. My OH license has a list of all codes and their meanings on the back of the license. I tried looking them up on the CA DMV website, but didn't find anything.

Call the DMV and ask them or next time you see an officer that isn't busy ask him or her.
