I requested my Criminal convection record for a job overseas. I got the record (and was blank, thank God), but next to my name, gender and DOB, there is something called "Alias" which is a name that has nothing to do with me. is that name something generated by the police for the records? or mistake?

An alias is a name you have used besides your real name. Its so they can check all the records for you, in case some aren't under you legal name.

If you've never used any other name besides your birth name, then skip the question. If not, list any names you have used, especially if you used them on official documents or w/e.

Whoops sorry, didn't see you had gotten a report that said you had an alias, sorry about that. I'd contact the place you got it from, if you've never used that name before.

Is the space next to "Alias" blank or is there actually a name there?

If there is name in the space then for some reason you were tagged with this alias (another name you're known as). A few examples of how aliases are assigned would be when people give us false names or go by their middle name instead of their first name, or go by Al instead of Albert.

"Alias" is an alternative name for a person,or an object, such as a variable, file, or device. On Macintoshes, you can assign aliases for files, which allows you to have icons for the same file in different folders. Windows provides the same functionality but does not use the term alias. UNIX also supports aliases, but calls them links or symbolic links.

An "alias" is another name you may have gone by, or maybe a nickname for your actual name -- like, Bobby for Robert. If it is a mistake, notify the proper authorities.

I don't know but Alias without "s" in arabic means something high, valuable, appreciable, non tocuhable, like paradise.

An alias is a pseudonym, the reason why it would have been asked in the application is because, the authority want to know if the person is called by some other name or not.

Mars is correct! If someone using the same alias as you have in your file with the same general description commits a crime, you could be picked up as a result of this error. I would straighten it out. Peace.
