We were skating in a abandoned lot (NO ONE THERE). It was just the four of us and there is a No trespassing sign...(BUT DOESN'T THAT SIGN ONLY APPLY TO DAY TIME??) The cops came and hassled us about being there and me and my buddy refused to leave because we felt we weren't doing anything wrong. The cop put us in handcuffs and put us in the cop car. The handcuffs really hurt are hands when we were struggling and arguing with the officer. Can we report the officer for putting the cuffs on too tight?

So what the fk?!?! We weren't doing anything wrong. The sign says no trespassing but it doesn't say we couldn't skateboard.

IS the cop right or I right???

Rule #1, the cop is always right.

Rule #2, even if the cop is wrong, the cop is still right.

So in this case the cop is right and you are wrong.

Really? No trespassing is a 24/7 deal buddy.

no trespassing means stay out day or night. The cop did his job he arrested you because you didn't leave when asked.

No trespassing means 24 / 7 / 365....

Sorry, you're wrong, you were trespassing ! That means you have no right to be there even if it was a bible study meeting. Period.

You are right. No Trespassing means No Trespassing. So the cop could not legally come on the property to harass you with out permission first. So he should have just shot you for being there. End of problem and complaints.

the trespassing sign means that at no time unless you have permission to be there are you allowed to be there on the property and when you were confronted by the cops and told to leave and you refused that is called refusal to obey a law enforcement officer and when you struggled with the cops while being handcuffed that is called resisting arrest so that being said you are likely going to have a rap sheet i.e. a criminal record the lesson that needs to be learned here is always obey the law no matter how stupid it may seem because it could end up saving your life at some point

The officer is right. The owner of the lot posted the no trespassing sign. It means you are not allowed to be there. Day time, night time, your time my time, makes no difference. Your feeling that you were not doing anything wrong doesn't mean squat. The handcuffs were not put on that tight. If you hadn't been fighting against them, they would not have hurt. Yes, you were doing wrong, skate boy. You were trespassing on posted land. No trespassing means no walking, running, skating, skateboarding, crawling, bicycling or anything else that involves your body being on that lot. even if it were an abandoned lot, SOMEONE owns it, and they put up the NO TRESPASSING sign, and it meant exactly what it said. Pay more attention in English class and ask the teacher to explain the word trespass to you.

1)BUT DOESN'T THAT SIGN ONLY APPLY TO DAY TIME??

For what conceivable reason would it apply only to day time, and if it did, why would there not be hours posted accordingly?

2)The handcuffs really hurt are [sic] hands when we were struggling and arguing with the officer.

I feel like I should restrain myself from asking this, but exactly how dumb are you?

3)The sign says no trespassing but it doesn't say we couldn't skateboard.

Yes it did. It's not the sign's fault you can't read.

This has to be a troll! LOL! No Trespassing signs only apply in the day time?

You were trespassing (if this actually happened) and were breaking the law. You were doing something wrong, you entered property belonging to another person without permission (that's trespassing).

The officer was doing their job, complain all you want! The officer at the desk can help you find the right place to complain to.

As for the cuffs hurting you when you were struggling? That's a feature of handcuffs, it's supposed to keep people from struggling. The cuffs were not too tight.

Stay off property you do not own, unless you have permission to be there.

Since it said no trespassing, you were in the wrong. Especially when you refused to leave. How the cop handled it however probably wasn't the best. He was most likely just exerting his "power" over you.
