Will I be strip searched in Jail?

I know strip searches are mandatory. But I read online that you are required to hold your genitals and squat while being searched. Im guessing this is because people hide things in there genitals. My only problem with this is that I am disabled, and I do not have the physical ability to squat. If I do, I try I may fall.

What do you think the police will try and do? I am afraid I may be subjected to a more invasive search or the police may think I am lying about my disability and try to force me to do something uncomfortable. And im turning myself in for an unpaid traffic ticket.

Ignore Bill, he is a jerk. The possibility of a strip search, especially for a simple traffic no show, is very slim. You will, in a lot of jails now, take of your clothes, and you will be given a set of hospital scrubs and a pair of shower shoes. I have never heard of the holding of the genitals, and can only assume is you are allowed to do that for modesty's sake. The idea is to squat and cough. since many people going into jail hide stuff in their anus. I have an artificial knee joint, and I cannot get on my knees, so I know where you are coming from.

1. No it was a male officer for me. 2. It was me and two male correctional officers. 3. Correctional Officers 4. Yes they do one inmate at a time while the others sit and wait in the same room. 5. When I refused they restrained me, held me down, and had me undergo a cavity search. 6. A strip search is where you take all of your clothes off and move around the body parts that they instruct you to. A cavity search is where they hold you down and touch you all over your body including your privates. 7. Only if it's a cavity search then yes they will. 8. During a strip search yes. You have to do it three times. 9. No everyone is treated the same and therefore humiliated.

First, you'll only be strip searched if you have to be housed in the jail. If you are just clearing a warrant for an unpaid ticket, it is possible to arrange to do a "walk through" in which you are booked, immediately make bail, and are given a date for another court appearance. Contact an attorney or a bail bondsman to arrange this. You'll only be inside for a few hours and won't have to go through the indignity of being strip searched.

When you report to jail, one of the very first things that happens is that you are asked if you have any immediate medical problems that they need to be aware of. This is mainly to separate people who are acutely suicidal, or who have medical problems that require medication such as diabetes, but you can take advantage of the opportunity to make the staff aware of your disability. If you do have to be housed overnight, they can certainly make accommodations to carry out the search in a way that you can perform. It would be unusual that they would perform a cavity search on someone just because they were disabled and unable to squat, although you can bet that your rear end would get a little more attention than usual.

Consider that strip searches are much more common in prisons than in jails. They don't exactly perform cavity searches on a daily basis for prison inmates who are in wheelchairs, for example.

In Canada, the "on-duty" nurse will conduct a full cavity search in provincial jails.

Officers do not do this.

All inmates are subjected to these searches

in order to capture any contraband which may be secreted in those body cavities.

It is done each and every time a person is admitted to the facility: new admissions; transfers; returned from court, etc

Nothing personal, just necessary.

I remember one occasion where a new admission

had six 9mm cartridges in his anus.

We spend days searching the facility for the firearm.

They will do what needs to be done. YES, they WILL do a complete cavity search, disabled or not. NOT doing a cavity search imposes a risk they can not afford to take merely because you appear to be disabled. How do they KNOW you are disabled? Since they cannot KNOW from firsthand experience, they MUST err on the side of caution. You DO realize that some people have hidden cell phones, weapons and drugs inside their body cavities, yes?

You are thinking of prison no a jail. The local authorities aren't going to put you in prison for a traffic ticket, all they will do is as that you pay the fine and when you do you will be free to go.

If you can't do it the corrections officers will have to do a cavity search. You can at least try to do what they ask you. If you can't, tell them and they will do a cavity search. But trust me you won't get out of it.

seems unlikely a jail term would be needed for a fine outstanding. even so police have to consider anybody claiming disability to actually be disabled . a doctor may then be called.

You will be placed on your belly and a cavity search will be conducted that way

If you was really handy capped you might know better as to not commit crimes to be put in that situation,

Then have your mommy hold your little genitals for the cop.

If you can't squat they'll just have you bent over and spread your cheeks.

be sure to let them know so they can have more officers when they search you so you won't fall.
