Most number of NYC shooting murder victims in a single day?

Question

I'm trying to compile a set of statistics with regard to the number of victims killed by gun fire in NYC over the years, but one statistic has been a sticking point - The maximum number of murders committed by gun violence in a single day within the limits of the city. Talking about a historical number, not just in the last year or so.

Does anyone know of a good resource for this information, or better yet, the actual number in question?

Well your best bet is to look at the FBI Uniform Crime Report but I think that deals with the USa as a whole give me a couple of minutes and I will find you a more precise reference til them here is the the link for the FBI Uniform Crime Reports
