bounty hunters work with the criminals at first, criminals call the dog, to pay their bail money, and they pay him what ever they can. When the day of court arrives dog gets the money back, But if the criminal doesn't appear to court then dog has to go out and arrest them and the legal system then pays dog his owed money.

Well the word Bounty Hunter comes from the Latin word Bounty which is the want of a man/woman. A bounty Hunter chases them and captures them dead or alive and get a award of cash or something of Values

A bounty hunter is a "Bail enforcement officer". A person who skips bail and doesn't show up for his court hearing can be brought in by the bounty hunter for trial. They get paid by the company who put up the bail to the court.

A bounty hunter is someone who works for a bail bonds agency, and when people fail to show up for court they go and get them. They have arresting powers against those that get bailed out of jail by the bail company they work for.

In the U.S. in places such as Post Offices there are huge file-o-fax type things that list all people the police have been unable to trace and offer rewards for their capture. As such these bounty hunters check these out and find the people in order to claim the rewards.

That is essentially how its done, perhaps not specifically through a wanted list in the Post Office but through court orders and other similar things.

bail bonds - put the money up for the bail of a person in court then add a fee to the bail bond

bounty hunters- are hired by the bail bonds to hunt bail skippers and bring them back to jail so the bail bonds get there money back the bail bonds hire bountey hunters and pay them a fee to recover the bail skipper

to eric c BAILIFFS IN THE UK CAN ONLY BE USED IN CIVIL CASES AND THEY HAVE NO POWER AT ALL TO DETAIN ANYONE FOR WHATEVER REASON. ONLY THE POLICE CAN SEIZE AND DETAIN.

apart from citizens arrest but that is a different ball game.

bounty hunters in the UK are actually illegal

EDIT in reply to eric c they are not bounty hunters they are all employed by the police to collect fines, most of the civilian enforcement officers are ex police who hae reached retirement age. by no stretch of the imagination can they be classed as bounty hunters. they dont get paid for each fine defaulter they arrest.and by the way they are still have to apply P.A.C.E

SORRY ERIC BUT NO APOLOGY BUT WE WILL HAVE TO AGREE TO DISAGREE

Criminals who are arrested can get out by posting bail with a bondsman (usually about ten percent of the whatever the charge is) and when they get out they are supposed to repay the bondsman. In Dog, he puts up his own money to get the guy out of jail (sometimes the family or friends of the criminal puts up the money) and he is supposed to be repaid within a certain timeframe or he eats the money. He caught one guy who ran and was within an hour or so of the Statute of Limitations running out and the money was several hundred thousand so that was a good catch.
