Since passing the Border Patrol written exam, I filed a chapter 13 Bankruptcy due to my wife leaving work due to a disability. Also I am retired from the Army and rely on my pension and didn't receive it for 90 days due to Treasury mistakes. Anyway, is this gonna be a problem or keep me from clearing the background? The military investigators I spoke to said it actually showed responsibility versus filing a chapter 7 and whipping out all debt and walking away. I am an Iraq vet, NCO and have an impeccable military service record! I also have completed the civilian police academy, and serviced as an Extradition Officer when I was 21-23 years old. I am now 40, and received an age wavier from OPM already for my military service. Ultimately, I'm worried the chapter 13 will bar me from employment?
