On my way back from the beach last night on the Atlantic City Expressway, and there was an accident. It must have not happened too long before we passed it because the traffic wasn't bad, but there were already a plethora of police and ambulances there. Anyways, it involved a motorcycle and an SUV and the motorcyclist must have been thrown off the motorcycle, because he was laying facedown on the road in a horrid position, with the helmet still on. He had a sheet covering ONLY his feet. I'm assuming he was dead, because he wasn't being attended to, an officer was just standing beside him. My question is, what does the sheet over the feet mean? I thought he was dead, so why wouldn't the emergency personelle try to protect the scene a little better so all the passing motorists don't see an effing dead body as they're passing along? It was unprofessional and extremely disturbing.

You would have to ask the officers at the scene, since I would have no idea as to why they would cover his feet, unless he had lost his feet, and not the rest of the body?

Depending on how long the body must be left on the ground they will usually either cover it or screen the area.

you're right sounds like a fckup. cops... the sheet over the feet means a sheet over the body to a 500-lb jakof in his autopsy report. the guy who rammed him was likely rich or well-placed. dam shame
