why do we let the cival righters stretch out the appeal process to save convicted scumbags (at huge cost to taxpayer) but allow the police to kill so many via extra judical executuions

In most cases, People who are killed by the Police are killed because they are trying to kill a Police Officer or someone else.



That is not an extra judicial execution.



That is a justifiable homicide.



People in prison are kept under control and are not a threat to others in ost cases as long as the guards are well trained and follow the proper procedures with dangerous inmates.



Therefore there is no need to kill a prison inmate to protect the lives of other people.

You are right about the cost to appeal the death sentence. Who in their right mind wouldn't appeal against such a thing? I think inmates have a right to appeal their sentence, however, it would actually cost less if they were simply imprisoned for life to begin with (hooray!).

Because those killed were trying to kill the cops. "extra judical executuions" using this phrase shows a lack of either knowledge or intellect about the matter.
