Do I need to carry an ID while I'm out doing yard work?

If I'm out doing yard work and a police officer stops and asks for my ID, what happens if I've left my wallet in the house and I can't produce it right away? Say, for example, that I'm mowing the lawn, trying to pull weeds, trying to prune overgrown shrubs, or doing some other kind of maintenance. If I can't produce my ID right away, the officer is certainly not going to let me go into the house to get it, because he'll get concerned I'll come back with a weapon.

Oh, and in case anyone is wondering why a police officer would ask for my ID while I'm just out doing lawn work: It's a post 9/11 world, that's why. Besides, the officer may think I'm committing disorderly conduct or doing something to upset the neighbors, like if the dog next door starts barking or something.

Come on, it's not rocket science. You just go into the house with the officer, in the unlikely event that the issue even comes up.

If you don't want to do that, just keep your ID with you.

See? Problem resolved. Easy.

what you left out of your crybaby rant was the sheer number of yardwork implements that might either be in your hand or nearby that would work great as weapons. in a world where a cop would approach you on private property for no good reason and harrass you, you leave out perhaps the only real concern: getting shot because you didnt drop the hedge clippers fast enough.

proving that not even you believe the crap question you poised. do'h!

Its in comparison to you`re walking with a lead pipe on your palms searching for hassle. while you're utilising it as a walking stick they cant do something approximately it. like the poster above stated, I`d carry 6'x1.5" wood artwork stress or a minimum of a broom stick. Ever think of of sporting pepper spray? purely as effective against K9`s, is actual held on your keychain or on your pocket, and its criminal. i know some cyclists who carry it and function used it on an analogous time as cycling, on canine that have chased them. Its too a lot for their gentle nostril so it stops them of their tracks.

That is why we need effective border control and a system that works better. Presently, you know that so many are here undocumented, that many people have the belief, correct or not, that the vast majority of people that look foreign are here illegally. If we had confidence that the system was working well, then that would alleviate a lot of that concern.

You can blame the cop or the person next to you that looks to you as if you are here illegally and be mad at them, but the broken system that allowed so many in and watered down your position of being here legally is your actual enemy.

Of course you don't need to carry your ID; In you car, yes you do but anything else other then that and out buying items you don't need it. If a officer asks for your ID when your out doing yard work just tell him your name and he'll have all the information he needs (he has a laptop built in his car) all policemen do. Therefore you do not need an ID.

Actually, dog against dog, sure takes a bite out of crime but then again, if you own the property, then you can own a weapon, if everything is in your name.
