My friend stole 5 dvd and he is not sure he will get caught. Though he has done it several times, nothing has happend to him. However, he never stole like 5 dvds so he is bit anxious about this one. I told him to confess but..idk. But seriously, he took them and the alam didnt go on. Is there any chances of getting caught even if they have him cameras?? How does catching people by cameras work? I'm thinking that they have no information about him except his looks. How will they press charge on him..?

Policy in most stores is that if a manager is not immediately available to stop the person, they are allowed out the door. However, the tape of them stealing is flagged, and they are watched more closely the next time they come in, or if they come in to "return" merchandise without a receipt they can be detained then. It's just a matter of time, and be aware that if you are with him when he's caught, you may also be detained, searched, and perhaps even taken to the police station for a while.

What is he thinking???

Eventually he'll get caught and will pay a high price for his crimes.

All stores now have a zero tolerance policy. That means when he gets caught he will be prosecuted and will go to jail.

And it may not be a camera or someone who works at the store that catches him. Stealing raises the prices of things for all of us. If I see someone stealing I report them because they are not just stealing from the store they are stealing from everyone.

Even if he doesn't get caught right away he's going to keep stealing more and more. He started out with 1 CD, now he's up to 5...eventually he will get caught and the sentence will be stiffer because of the total cost of the items.

It's an awfully high price to pay because there is a good chance his life will be destroyed. Every kid I worked with in Juvenile lockup thought he/she wouldn't get caught. The other thing is that they aren't always sending kids through the juvenile system anymore.

Has your friend thought about what it's like in prison? Even in the juvenile system kids get raped, beat up, and worse. Kids kill themselves in the juvenile system or are killed by others.

If they caught him on camera they will probably catch him in the stores. It doesn't even matter if he isn't stealing something then. The image may be enough to convict him. In any case, they will arrest him and he'll go to jail. His life will be ruined and for what....5 CD's.

How old is he? Does he know that he can be sent to prison until he's 18 (although many states are talking about making it 21). Is it worth it??

No she won't be able to sue. What Primark has done is stuck someone stealing. They then locate out that she is employed in retail herself and is untrustworthy, so that they tell her employer of what exceeded off - pointing out that she admitted what she did. It does no longer be counted that they did not record it to the police, i imagine they were being charitable by no longer doing this. in the experience that that they had said as the police, she could likely have a caution, which may teach upon her record for the subsequent 5 years. Her next steps could be to provide up her pastime. If she does no longer she runs the prospect of being sacked (probably - someone impressive me the following please?), and then she basically isn't able to invite for a reference, as that reference will state that she change into sacked. EDIT: how are you going to're saying she isn't a thief? the purely situation that stopped her from getting away with that is that she change into stuck! tried robbery is as undesirable as robbery as there is an quite skinny line between fulfillment and failure on the challenge of crime.

Most likely he got away with it but it's wrong. People work hard to buy the things that they want and so should he. He will get caught eventually. KARMA

if he already made it out of the store they can't do anything. i got caught shoplifting at target, and i was about to walk out the door and they grabbed me by the arm and took me to the back, and before then i had stolen before, and as long as you make it out the store, i don't think they can do anything.

If he's that worried, than why did he do it??? Don't do the crime if you're not willing to do the time...
