you won't get jail time for a speeding ticket. But you may get your learner's revoked. How much trouble you're in depends on your parents.

Your question doesn't add up ! 90 in a 65, learners permit, no arrest, and no citation? Then how do you know when and where to appear for court. If you were charged, and half to appear, if your convicted you will lose your driving privileges until 21. You will pay court cost and possible have points on your license when you get them back. Your parents Ins. will go up. If I had made the stop your parents would have been notified on the spot for two reasons. (1), To let them know where to come pick you up. Same being at the magistrate's office from your arrest for driving at a speed that could have caused endangerment to other motorist. (2), To advise them they are lucky there son or daughter is alive. There is hope though. I hope this question is not for real!

if you get off easy your lucky. im 16, and got a $75 fine for doing 41 in a 35 in virginia and a strike on my record

i hope they burn you good. doing 6 miles over the speed limit is still breaking the law by all means, but its not necessarily the most dangerous, daring thing in the world. going 25 over? VERY dangerous, wreckless driving (which is constituted at 20 mph over or higher) usually carries a penalty of around $200 and a strike on the record. that was for an adult though. you? probably get your driving priveliges suspended for a year. no jail time for you, you are a minor. the only time that would have been a consideration is if you were driving alone (juvenile court and possible juvenile hall) or if you killed someone (murder charge, and they could charge you as an adult) but just this wouldnt carry jail time. i hope you take a lesson from this and realize how stupid it was. and if you werent driving alone, your parents need to be smacked for letting you go that fast, then letting you be on the computer after what you did!

lol if he didnt give you a ticket then why would you have to go to court? if you do have to go to court then the fine will be a heavty one no doubt since you only have a learner's permit but i dont think the insurance would be high since you didnt get into an accident or anything but it will be high since your only a youngster driving and dont worry u cant go to jail for speeding if you can the jails will be way over crowed not like they aren't already. and the biggest problem u might have is dealing with you parents more then the law. good luck.

you should carry an attendence compliance form from the college district that your mothers and fathers have been meant to document with the board. it is the only requirement. The Georgia homeschool regulation demands: Attendance information must be saved and submitted to the superintendent each and each month. The information will "not be used for any purpose different than offering needed attendance suggestions." Ga. Code Ann. ยง 20-2-690(c)(6) To get your authorized you should take an authorized direction at a private college for using and function 30 hours at the back of the wheel guidance (Joshua regulation)

At the very least a large fine and possible suspension of the learners permit. Also if you were driving alone thats another charge. Moving violations will usually cause insurance to go up as well.

If you go over the speed limit make sure you don't go 10 mph over the speed limit but you will be in a lot of trouble though & you will pay a very hefty fine:( & your insurance will go up because of it!!! So don't do it again!!!

First, relax. Fear is the mind-killer.

Second - welcome to the club! The few, the fast, the free-spirited B-) Ive probably gotten 20 speeding tickets in my life. And Im sure Ill get more (though it's getting very hard to catch me these days - you learn tricks)

It's not the end of the world, though at your age it probably feels like it right now.

They're just highway robbers after your money. It sucks, but that's life in America - and there's defensive measures you can take.

If you're convicted and the traffic court allows it (normally they do), you can hide one event per year from the insurance companies by wasting an afternoon in a Traffic School http://www.dmv.org/va-virginia/traffic-schools.php

Do it. Yes, your parents' insurance will go up otherwise. Probably through the roof.

I dont know about Virginia, but in California you would only get a fine - not jail. Infractions cannot, by definition, incur jail time and here you wouldnt even hit Misdemeanor until 100MPH. (Ive gotten that one too!)

And this isnt a serious crime by society's standards - tho people will front to you and act like it is. Secretly, everyone just smirks, shakes their head, and says to themselves "Ah, young men and their cars".

The self-righteous should get over themselves. Speed doesnt kill - bad driving, at any speed, is what kills.

EXACTLY what is the charge? Please cite the specific code you were given. You didnt receive a paper ticket? What have you received on paper? That's suspicious if there's no paper trail.

Did he get you on radar, or pacing? What did he say?

What road? I assume it was a highway, at those speeds.

Most likely, your permit will be revoked and you'll be denied a license for 6-12 months.

When you go to court and they ask for your plea, tell them neither - you would like to speak to an attorney and cannot afford your own. They should assign you one from the local Public Defender's office.

I would provide a link if I knew your city and county.

Hopefully you will get someone sympathetic and willing to guide you through this. They probably cant get you off the hook, but at least they can remove the mystery and you wont be completely alone.

Odds are you're born to be a "spirited driver". As long as you drive WELL - dont be a sloppy, reckless fool - then I welcome you. Down the road, dude, GET A RADAR DETECTOR. A good one is a lifesaver.

Unfortunately Virginia is the only state (since DC isnt a state) in America that still bans them, but it's only a $90 ticket and the latest Bel STi Driver (which I own) claims to be invisible to both VG-2 and Spectre systems that cops use to detect detectors, and can be installed hidden with audio only. B-)

The STi is pricey at $400, but if you consider the avg speeding ticket here in Cali is $300 + $35 for traffic school plus $hundreds in hikes to the organized crime called insurance here, it's worth it. (No, I do not work for Beltronics in any way, nor any subsidiary, yaddah yaddah.)

Also, if you're going to be a lead foot, take some advice from another - you may be good, you may have natural skills, but trust me at your young age you are not yet as good as you probably think you are. YOU MAY DIE, SOON, racing around like that.

As my instructor at Laguna Seca Raceway told us, "go fast slowly".

Find an indoor gokart race track, and polish your skills in a safe environment first.

Enroll in a racing school, get trained - some even have cheaper racing camps for teenagers.

For my 15th birthday, I was enrolled in a one-day Bob Bondurant racing school.

http://www.bondurant.com/

Practice your power slides and spinout-recovery in big safe parking lots, so that in danger your reflexes already know what to do. http://www.costco.com/ B-)

Master your machine. I want you to still be alive in 2 years, okay?

See you on the road, Turbo. Though probably not this year.

hopefully they will take your license from you! you have no business driving 25 mph over the speed limit and risking the lives of other people while you are STILL a very VERY inexperienced driver.. I hope they take your license for atleast 2 years and make you pay money out your ***..
