or does it get re-recorded over again the next day lol ?

relax - i didn't pull off a hiest or something.

however, one of my pals , a ninja robbed a jewelry store owned by a man whose major job is that of shipment of illegal arms across europe lol.

my ninja pal, well, 99% of the time is flawless and perfect...but on this particular day, a few sheets of 'toilet roll' got stuck on his slithery silent black sneaker, well as he did his 'tummy-tuck 350 forward roll out of the window, the side of his foot with the toilet roll got caught on CCTV.

this happened on Weds 5th August 09. heh.

reckon that store recorded over tha footage ?

Now days with hundreds of cameras in any public area they don't have a guy for each camera. Someone may be watching but as he has lots of cameras to watch its not likely he would have noticed a single person even if they were committing an offense.

But all are recorded and can later be viewed.

How long before the recording is lost (erased) is very much a local policy.

In some places, it is actually viewed LIVE. In most, it is NEVER viewed unless there is reason to believe the tape shows something worth viewing.

In the case you describe, your friend left a signed confession along with his driver's license on taped to the camera.

I think if nothing happens of any interest then they just get recorded over.
