No. that's only the military that has the "don't ask, don't tell" policy. It's illegal for the highway patrol, like most employers, to discriminate against race, sex, sexual preference, religion, etc. They have to be an "equal opportunity employer".

Those weren't highway patrol officers. Those were men who like to dress up as highway patrol officers. Don't let the fact that they put you in "jail" convince you.

I'm certain there are homosexuals in any given professional just as there are heterosexuals. The main thing to remember is MYOB--Mind Your Own Business.

well to my knowledge the military is the only ones with that policy everyone else has to follow the equal employment opportunity act that is up held by the department of labor.

How can you tell? There is no polite way of asking anyone their private business.

Unless I am mistaken, it is illegal to discriminate based on gender, race, nationality, religion, sexual orientation and political affiliation.
