How Can I Make Sure I am Not Found?

I am wanting to run away from my family. I cannot stand them. I have a valid passport and about $10,000 in assets. I have not committed any crimes and I do not want to. Please tell me what steps I need to take so that nobody, no law enforcement and nobody can find me or know where I am. I am willing to drop work, and close credit cards and bank accounts and pay cash for everything. I just want to make sure I am NOT found by my family. Please remember that I don't want to do anything illegal (re: get fake ids). Thanks

how would you survive if you never worked again?

as long as you are working somewhere it is impossible to hide because your name can be found from your company and social security number.

Even if you change your name you still have to use the new name under your current social security number so you will be found.

You would also have to go without living with a cellphone. Even if you get a new cell number it will stillbe in your name and you will be found.

People who do illegal things such as false id etc are the only ones who are able to hide.

Why do you have to actually hide from your family???

If you really dont want anything to do with them then just tell them that and move out. If you are scared of them or something then go and get a restraining order against them so they cant contact you,

your passport will at least tell the government where you are

therefore they can find you. or at least find you easier.

so, you need someone to stay with. you wont be able to get a valid job without giving them the info they need to track you. Especially if you go to Europe, you pretty much have to be an EU national to get a job, and you have to have a job offer pretty much before you get to the country to stay longer than 3 months. you could get a new name, and yadda yadda, but for the most part "they" pretty much know how to keep track of you now.

It also really depends how much effort your family goes into finding you. TBH if they're "big enough assholes" for you to run away....at 28?....then they probably won't care enough to go through all the trouble.

What's so bad with your life that you can't just move to another state? At 28? And get a house and a job in a place where you actually can?
Okay Nevermind

I can't answer your question, but there are a lot of things you need to think about.

Well, it depends on how old you are. If you're like, 15 or something, you'll just get taken advantage of if you go out on your own. You also need to consider where you'll live. Do have an effective way to defend yourself? I'm talking like a gun or tazer or something. You could leave the country, but then what about health care? If you break your arm, could you afford to have insurance? Would the insurance company accept your application (are you old enough)? If you went to a hospital, someone might spot you. Your family might freak out and your picture would be all over the news.

Sorry I can't help, but these are serious issues.

wait i dont get this it sounds like your over 18 so you dont have to put up with them but if they wont leave you alone for some reason then you can get a restraining order and if you are under 18 which i doubt otherwise how could you obtain all those assets? then there is nothing you can do and tough it out unless you get emancipated

The best way to do that is to change your entire life. If you abandon any resemblance to your former life it will make it difficult for anyone to track you down.

Which means you must also blend into your new environment.

It also helps if you have someone who is willing to help you. To help you cover tracks. To help you blend into your new environment and to help cover your back.

You can be tracked by utility bills.Otherwise, you shouldn't have a problem of anyone finding you.
