You should get a college degree if you can. Getting a college degree is one of the best things that you can do. Visit the Round Rock Police Department website. To apply, you must have a minimum of 30 college credit hours from an accredited university, or two years full time law enforcement experience, or two years active duty time in the U.S. Armed Forces. Getting police officer jobs is becoming more and more competitive. Do whatever you can to make yourself the best candidate that you can. Best of luck!

i happen to be a officer near round rock. Military is a huge plues over someone like me that just has college and of course now 3 years as a leo. You be in the first picks as long as your service history and other parts of your background are good. You of course have to go to the academy and then all the steps of RR PD hiring process like fto etc. You also dont have to join the miltary or go to college as long as your have a high school diploma and are 21 years of age to 45 .

Having an education never hurts. Even if its just 12 credits. I know having a military background is a huge plus for any job. Good luck
